The project, carried out in collaboration with Stilmet – Gutters and Flues of Foiano della Chiana, involves the construction of two car boxes in galvanized steel with dimensions of 5.20m in length x 2.90m in projection.
The roof is made of fir wood matchboard with breathable membrane and additional cover in Corten 8/10 aluminum installed using the double seaming technique. This system ensures high waterproofing without the use of seals, holes or various adhesives for joining the individual parts, to the advantage of durability and aesthetics.
The pergola has borders on the entire perimeter, a recessed and lowered channel for rainwater all in corten aluminum. Corten, an Anglo-Saxon term born from the contraction of corrosion resistance and tensile strength, is a controlled oxidation technique of steel, patented in the 1930s, by forming a protective layer with tones ranging from orange to red or brown . The rust effect finish of the metal is made of aluminum with two-component polyurethane resins.
The modern minimalist style of the car garage is integrated into the architectural context with an elegant simplicity. Another essential feature is its functionality, in accordance with the client’s initial need to obtain the best possible usability from every designed space.
